Cally is in his early 50s and decided to embark on this trip before he got too old. His profession is collecting and riding old machinery, in his spare time he is an Art Director and manages a few understanding and sympathetic artists. He has a website at www.antar.cc
He will be riding an 1885 Grafton Silent Compound Roadster with a 50” fixed wheel and one tiny pathetic brake.
John Malseed is slightly older and is one of the better known members of the Veteran-Cycle Club (V-CC). He has won many trophies racing his 1885 Victor Roadster 52” fixed wheel Ordinary and will be racing it again one day after this epic ride has ended in the Knutsford 3 hour race that takes place once every 10 years and attracts some 80 penny farthings. John has done this ride once before, but has forgotten the route.
ASTRID CALLOMON
It is her 22nd birthday on August the 22nd, Modern Courier Systems give her friends no excuse NOT to deliver her presents direct.
and….
TOM MARSHALL-POTTER (MBE) will be riding their reproduction Dursley Pedersens alongside. These machines were designed at the turn of the last century. They will have modern navigating equipment to help cut-down on time-consuming map-reading stops, as well as carrying the odd Mars bar and fluids.
Both are in their early 20s and should know better.
